going out
i wasn’t sure of it at first, and i still don’t know for sure the cause, but i’ve tested it a few times now, so i’m comfortable sharing. my headphones die faster when the sun is up. fast enough to really notice the difference. i can’t explain it, and i don’t know if it can be fixed.
i’m grateful for the lengthy nighttime charge. when its late and my partner snores across the room i have no fears of waking him up, though sometimes i wish i did.
but the mornings, the mornings and the evenings are cause for anger. why on my morning commute through this stinking city do my earbuds fade before i can cross the second high street. and on my return, wishing for nothing but to sooth the day’s failings with an audiobook or something more sinful, why do i hear that dreadful beeping before i make it through the first and wettest underpass.
i stand in my own piss and ask this for the hundredth time.
thank god there’s talk of going out tonight.
